The following example is for the GERBERICH family, one of the author's ancestral families. There are 117 listings for the family in Germany today. The distribution of the family is shown below:

The family is mostly located in northwest of Bavaria, in the 97... zipcode (79 families, or 67% of the total). Clicking on one of the circles will display the number of listings in that two-digit zipcode area and tell which states are included in that area.

Clicking on the "Counts by State" button will list the state data. From that screen, click on "Show Details" to select a state for a state map. On the next screen click on the state to select it, and then click "Show Details" to produce the state map.
